Want to know how is a capsule wardrobe any good for you? Here is everything you need to know.
When I first found out about the capsule wardrobe world I couldn’t understand why it could be good for me. I mean, what benefits could a bunch of black-and-white clothes provide me with?
I couldn’t be more wrong. Surprisingly, building a capsule wardrobe has more benefits than I could imagine.
A capsule wardrobe is a method that allows you to save time. Capsules provide a range of basics in neutral colors allowing you to style several suitable outfits in the shortest time possible. They make getting dressed in the morning easier and quicker.
Saving time is not the only use of a capsule, I discovered many others while building mine as well as some capsule wardrobe basics you must include in yours.

Seven benefits of a capsule wardrobe
1. It will save you money
I’m certain that if you have researched this topic before you already encountered the term “capsule wardrobe checklist“. If you haven’t this is actually pretty self-explanatory, it’s a checklist of all the items you need to include in your capsule.
I know what you’re thinking: Aurora, how is a checklist going to save me money? Well, it’s actually pretty simple. By having what we can call a “shopping plan” it’s way easier to choose what you need to buy beforehand.
For example, let’s say you have a white shirt on your checklist. You can easily research through the internet or by going to different clothing stores which white shirt has the best quality for the smallest price.
This way you can decide how much you are willing to spend while still buying everything you need.
Not to mention capsules are usually made of 25-30 pieces of clothing that are easy to match with each other. Essentially, with capsule wardrobe basics you can probably style the same number of outfits you get with your whole wardrobe right now!
This means more outfits, fewer clothes, happier wallet.
2. It reduces the chance of impulse-buying
Other than saving you money directly, following the capsule wardrobe checklist also allows you to save them indirectly since you will be way less likely to impulse buy.
Think about it, any time you shop, whether it’s online shopping or you actually go to the mall, you will exactly know what to buy. Also, you will have a really clear picture in your mind of what it is that you need so you will be distracted that easily.
Plus, especially if you are really invested in the process, you know you don’t want to spend money on other things right now because you want to complete your capsule ASAP!
3. It will save you time
As I mentioned before, capsules save you time. These are the capsule wardrobe basics, they are made up of basic pieces in a defined color palette. Meaning that they all can be matched with each other.
This narrows your choices greatly, and what happens if you have fewer options? You choose more quickly.
Basically, it will go down like this: you wake up in the morning and decide to get dressed. You contemplate your closet, find your favorite pair of pink pants and decide you want to wear them.
Next, you will need about 2-3 minutes to decide on your whole outfit because pretty much anything you own goes well with those pants. That would be a perfect start to your morning, right?
4. It allows you to create better outfits
Building a capsule wardrobe not only allows you to save time while you get dressed but also you will end up with better outfits than ever before.
By building a closet full of clothes that go well with each other, it’s basically impossible to go wrong. You have all the pieces that you need to complete your outfit which means you do not need to put on something that doesn’t match.
In your wardrobe, all the colors, different fits, and textures can go well together.
5. You will always have something to wear
No more sitting in front of your closet in despair because you have nothing to wear. Those days are over.
A capsule wardrobe can provide outfits for any possible occasion, not to mention it’s you that decides what clothes to include and how many you should include. For example, if you have a certain dress code for work you can tailor your closet to support that.
Also, once you start to have fun with your wardrobe you will find creating new outfits gets easier and more interesting.
6. You will get major emotional benefits
When you start to feel put together and cute every day you notice you feel better about yourself.
In my opinion, this is the best part about fashion. The way that taking care of yourself and dressing up impacts your emotions is incredible.
Also, feeling more confident and secure in who you are is not the only great benefit you will get with a capsule wardrobe, you will be incredibly more productive too.
I feel like it’s incredible and truly valuable what the right closet can do for you, despite what anyone says.
7. It will allow you to discover your own style
By trusting this process you will develop a better sense of style and, more importantly, a better sense of YOUR STYLE.
A capsule wardrobe is going to lay the foundation you need in order to let your style and personality shine. If you ask me, the way you dress tells the world who you are and what you think you’re worth.
Consider this, what do you think about a woman that dresses clean, polished, and classy? You think she is clean, polished, and classy. I know most of the time first impressions can be inaccurate, but if we’re being totally honest wouldn’t everyone like to be perceived exactly as they think of themselves?
